Former Fox News host Shepard Smith has a new show on CNBC, but it almost didn't happen.
"I wasn't even sure I was going to go back to work, honestly," he told Seth Meyers Thursday night, explaining that he'd left Fox News feeling like he'd done all there was to do there. "I took some vacation and sat out the pandemic, sort of hunker-down style, and thought about it a while. These people came to me and said 'no, what we really want to do is just the news, and we'll give you the resources.' We've got all of NBC Universal and Telemundo and SkyNews overseas. So we're uniquely situated to really just do the news. It's fun."
