Some recognizable faces are teaming up to play a one-hit wonder girl group from the 90s in the new Peacock comedy Girls5Eva, and this new teaser shows off their pipes and harmonies with the silliest of lyrics. Despite having a lot of adult responsibilities, the quartet will be attempting a comeback after their work is sampled by a young rap star,
Renée Elise Goldsberry was in the original cast of Hamilton, and singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles wrote and composed the music for the hit musical Waitress (not to mention her turn in NBC's production of Jesus Christ Superstar), and they'll both putting their pedigrees to good use in this new comedy from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt writer Meredith Scardino and executive producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. The girl group also boasts Busy Philipps (Cougartown) and longtime Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell.
Peacock has yet to announce a release date for Girls5Eva.
