Agent Dale Cooper First Arrived in Twin Peaks 32 Years Ago Today

While Twin Peaks officially premiered in April of 1990, the memorable monologue from FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) in the pilot episode canonically took place on February 24, 1989. 

"Diane, 11:30 am, February 24. Entering town of Twin Peaks. Five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line. Never seen so many trees in my life. As W.C. Fields would say, I'd rather be here than Philadelphia."

Cooper's dictation was an entertaining exposition dump, explaining that he's on his way to meet Sheriff Harry S. Truman to investigate the infamous murder of Laura Palmer while also denigrating meteorologists, touting the local cherry pie and marveling at the trees.
