America Ferrera's final episode of Superstore is coming up next week, and her departure was made more chaotic by the pandemic delaying what was initially planned for March. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday night, she said it was "just a mess."
"I had my final table read three times," she told Fallon. "I sobbed like a baby the first time, I couldn't even get words out, and then the second time, I didn't know it was going to be my last table read, so when the final day finally came, I had nothing to give. I'd cried all the tears, I'd said goodbye."
She remains proud of her work though. "I did 100 episodes of the show. I love the show. I'm so glad that it's going on and that the fans are going to continue to watch it and love it, and I'm always going to be a fan of the show. It was such an amazing five years of my career and I'm always going to be grateful for it."
Ferrera's final Superstore airs on NBC Thursday November 12 at 8:00 PM ET.
