When the TBS version of Conan went from the standard hour-long late night talk format to a 30-minute show, one of the sacrifices Conan O'Brien had to make was that he'd no longer have the services of Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band.
Over the holiday weekend, though, O'Brien reunited with Vivino, bassist Mike Merritt, and drummer James Wormworth to perform Chuck Berry's classic "Run Run Rudolph" for the Project Kids-Care charity concert, which also reminded us all that, yes, Conan O'Brien could have been some kind of actual rock star in an alternate reality.
In case you missed it, here's O'Brien bidding farewell to the BCB back in October of 2018, which may help explain why it feels good to see them reunited.
Conan airs weeknights at 11:00 PM ET on TBS.
