David Letterman returned to late-night TV for a funny, wide-ranging chat on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night. The Dodgers winning the World Series brought to mind some awkward moments he'd had with their legendary manager Tommy Lasorda back in the late 1970s.
"He always wanted us to come into the clubhouse after the game," Letterman explained. "I felt very uncomfortable with that because Tommy would always be there either naked or in his underpants. I just thought 'Ah, that's plenty, Tommy, I can show myself out.'"
The two late night hosts also swapped fun stories about the late, great Regis Philbin, with Letterman showing a clip from Late Show with David Letterman of Philbin wiping out on a motor scooter.
On the topic of his current show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Letterman gushed about how much he enjoyed spending time with Lizzo (while lamenting how "creepy" his recording session with her looked) and how "dynamic" he found Kim Kardiashian to be.
Kimmel also joked about Letterman's giant homemade cell phone case. which was revealed on My Next Guest as he walked through a CVS with Kardashian, saying that it looked like he "carved up a pool noodle."
