Grey's Anatomy alum Jesse Williams had quite the busy Monday. Just hours before an explicit video leaked of his full-frontal scene in Broadway play Take Me Out, Williams appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and discussed his experience and the reaction his onstage nudity has inspired in fans. Talk about timing...
When Williams and his Take Me Out co-stars — who served as WWHL's bartenders for the evening — were asked about "how much fluffing" they do before their now-infamous nude shower scene, the cast was clear that they do whatever necessary to get the job done. "I feel like there's some amount of fluffing," said Hiram Delgado. "Not too much, though. You don't want to send the wrong message."
"Does the audience react to the nudity onstage?" asked Cohen, by way of follow up. "A non-reaction is a really interesting reaction," replied Williams. "The quiet, you know. Creates a lot of insecurity."
"I don't like any of it," he continued. "I've learned in my minutes in theater, which is all a first for me, is don't try to read into it because it just creates more insecurity."
Cohen insisted that doing full-frontal in his Broadway debut is "doubly scary," and Williams seemed to agree. "I'm told it's quite insane, but it's a first so I have nothing to compare it to and I won't be scared of anything after this, that's for sure," said the former Grey's star.
Judging by the reaction to the leaked (and now viral) video, Williams has nothing to be scared of — and even less to be insecure about.
