Jimmy Kimmel renewed his criticism of Marjorie Taylor Greene last night in a monologue about the Georgia representative accusing Nancy Pelosi of overseeing a "gazpacho police" in Washington, D.C. Much like the rest of the internet, Kimmel had a field day with Greene's flub, and he even went so far as to warn viewers of saying something that could land them in the "goulash."
After breaking down the GOP's latest internal squabble — "The party is divided over whether the violent insurrection of January 6 was a violent insurrection, or just a lively sightseeing tour of the Capitol" — Kimmel noted that things are so "crazy" that even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell felt obligated to insist that January 6 was, in fact, "a violent insurrection."
"Welcome to the Resistance, Emperor Palpatine," joked the late night host. "Just to show you how far down the crazy hole we've gone, we're now applauding Republicans who are willing to admit that what happened, happened."
Kimmel added that "there's not just crazy, there's some dumb going on, too," before playing a clip of Greene's Wednesday afternoon appearance on OAN. "Everything is completely out of control," said Greene. "Not only do we have the D.C. jail, which is the D.C. gulag, but now we have Nancy Pelosi's Gazpacho Police."
"That's right! If you've got cold soup you better watch it, 'cause Nancy Pelosi's coming for it!" replied Kimmel, to raucous applause. "These must be the Soup Nazis Seinfeld warned us about so many years [ago]. If the Gazpacho Police get ahold of you, they'll throw you right in the goulash, so be very careful!"
