In preparation for Easter, Wylene (Aidy Bryant) and Vaneta Starkie (Kate McKinnon) of Smokery Farms Meat Gift Delivery Service stopped by SNL's Weekend Update to discuss how to adapt their recipes for vegetarians, but instead insisted that none of their meats come from lovable intelligent animals that are cute on the internet. Instead, they insisted that all their meat comes from animals who deserve to be killed.
"Our Grade A Easter meets come from creatures who are individually certified as the meanest, nastiest, freaky-deakiest, most worthless jerks in the barnyard," Vaneta insisted, before detailing animal crimes such as biting fingers, shoving kids hard and far, attending plantation parties, and contributing to toxic work environments.
This sketch came close to going off the rails when they were presented with a sample prop basket of raw meats that was apparently not only really stinky, but so extremely wet that it soaked the basket they had to hold up. You can watch McKinnon and Bryant struggle not to break as they endure the assault on their senses, and they eventually force Colin Jost to gross himself out by touching the raw meat, too.
