Kate Winslet Suffers From Impostor Syndrome in Mare of Easttown Trailer

The new trailer for Mare of Easttown shows us Kate Winslet as Mare Sheehan, a small-town detective in Pennsylvania who seems to be drowning under the weight of expectations and a debilitating case of impostor syndrome. The town still celebrates a heroic shot she made in a high school basketball game 25 years ago, while she's busy trying to solve the tragic case of a missing child that's been unsolved for over a year, contributing to her feelings of inadequacy. When a body is found and a special county detective is brought in to assist, she is marginalized further, but she's determined to see the case through.

The seven-part limited series Mare of Easttown premieres April 18 on HBO Max.
