The newly anointed Bachelorette Michelle Young, fresh off of losing out on Matt James' final rose on The Bachelor Monday night, appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with former Bachelorettes Becca Kufrin and Tayshia Adams, and she had the chance to ask them for advice as she prepares to step into their world.
Kufrin, whose season of The Bachelor ended in spectactular fashion when she won the final rose but was subsequently dumped for the runner-up before the finale aired and whose own season of The Bachelorette resulted in a two-year enagement that eventually fizzled, suggested that Youngd remain open-minded and allow contestants she isn't into initially to surprise her. "You never know when it's going to slap you in the face and you're going to be like 'oh, I really like this person.'"
Adams, who was the most recent Bachelorette after stepping in to replace Clare Crawley last fall and remains "happily engaged" to this day, told Young to come in with "no expectations and don't just cling to what you're used to." She also encouraged her not to overthink and second guess herself, and not to be afraid to "make them work a little bit."
