Ivanka Trump has largely stayed out of the spotlight since her father left office, but on Monday, she made headlines when a trove of texts to and from Donald Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows were released by the January 6 commission. In the texts, Ivanka cheered on Trump's supporters with a tone so upbeat it inspired a passionate takedown on Late Night, where Seth Meyers mocked her girlboss-style positivity.
"You are all WARRIORS of epic proportions! Keep the faith and the fight!" Ivanka texted Meadows and other members of a "Trump Inner Circle" group chat on November 5, 2020, two days after the election.
"She's trying to overturn the results of an election with the tone of a Peloton instructor," joked Meyers, repeating her text in a sing-song voice. "Let's crank up that resistance to 30 and ride to some Fall Out Boy!"
"Also, just a tip. If you're planning a coup, maybe don't do it via group chat?" continued the Late Night host. He then imagined Ivanka's next text to the "Trump Inner Circle" group, saying, "Hey guys, just wanted to have all our secret communications in one place in case anyone needs to access them in future! Here's an idea: should we do the coup on TikTok? I think that would totally slay!!! LMK!"
