Seth Meyers took full advantage of his live studio audience, his first since early March 2020, on Monday night when he roasted former President Trump for boring his rally crowd with his five-year-old material. The Late Night host dinged Trump for telling the "same deranged lies about the election he's been repeating for months," rantings that no longer seems to "electrify" his audiences.
"I love the cutaways to sullen Trump fans just standing there in silence like tourists watching one of those gold statue guys in Times Square: 'So is he gonna like, do something?'" said Meyers, adding that the ex-president may want to consider "remote shows" to avoid embarrasment. "And you can tell Trump was waiting for a crowd reaction, too. I mean, look at him. It's like watching an open mic night at the Senior Center."
Late Night with Seth Meyers airs weeknights at 12:35 AM ET on NBC.
