If you were surprised to see Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller sitting in the front row of Adele One Night Only on CBS, you're not alone. Last night, Rogen appeared virtually on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he explained that he thought he was attending "a small Adele concert" and not "the taping of an Adele television special." Whoops!
"If I'm being honest, I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but I smoke weed, Jimmy," said Rogen. "So we were like it's an Adele concert! It's in the park. We smoked a ton of weed, and we were like, we're just going to go and enjoy this lovely Adele concert."
Instead, Rogen and Miller were met with "cranes, drones flying around," a CBS film crew, and Oprah Winfrey. "And then me and my wife were like, okay maybe we can just kind of slink into the background. You know. Like we'll just sit in the back and it's fine. We are not equipped mentally to deal with doing this right now. So we go up to the desk, they give us our tickets and our seat numbers literally are 1A and 1B. And I'm like, 'That sounds close!'"
Rogen went on to say that he "tried to look cool" the entire special, but he's not sure he pulled it off. "For me at Adele — it was hard for me to look cool because I'm uncomfortable. I'm too close," he explained. "The whole time I was like, there are so many more famous people than me here who should be sitting where I'm sitting. And I could just feel them being insulted that I had such a good seat. Like, I was in front of Drake.
Ultimately, the multi-hyphenate was left with just one question: "If Adele, you're watching this, why did you do that?"
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 PM ET on NBC.
