If you're going to testify before your state's health committee and spew bonkers conspiracy theories about COVID-19 vaccines causing magnetism, expect to end up on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. On Wednesday night, an Ohio nurse who did just that became the butt of the joke when Colbert unloaded on the "crazy town" theories that she and others, including a woman named Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, have been pushing.
Even a man named Ernest has offered an "absolutely stunning demonstration" of COVID-19 magnetism at work, said Colbert, before playing the iconic scene from Jim Varney's 1990 comedy. "You know the authorities are going to try to silence him!" said the host. "I wouldn't be surprised if Ernest Goes to Jail."
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 PM ET on CBS.
