Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's patented motivational speeches were no match for a stout Los Angeles Rams defense last night. During an appearance on ESPN's ManningCast, The Rock attempted to pump up the Arizona Cardinals, down 14-0 in the second quarter, with a monologue about how they must "scratch, claw, fight, bite, kick, do everything you can" to get away from their own end zone and into Rams territory. Unfortunately for Cardinals fans, his words fell on deaf ears, as quarterback Kyler Murray attempted to avoid a safety by lobbing up a pass that was quickly intercepted and returned for a touchdown.
"Ah!" yelled The Rock, as Murray's unfortunate moment played out on screen. "Well, it's a good time to do this," he added, drinking from a bottle of liquor.
The Arizona Cardinals may be heading home for the season, but at least they're leaving Los Angeles with a very special pep talk. That has to count for something, right?
