The Story Behind Osyraa's Inability to Make Peace with the Federation in Star Trek: Discovery

900 years in the future, the Burn has drastically rewritten the political landscape of the galaxy, and the Federation is not what it once was, as the Emerald Chain has risen in power amidst the chaos.

However, Osyraa (Janet Kidder) is genuinely interested in making a deal with the Federation to help take some of the weight off of her shoulders as the leader of the Chain, but negotiations hit a snag when Admiral Vance (Oded Fehr) insists that she stands trial for her crimes.
