In this first Valentine's Day episode of Community back in 2010, Señor Chang (Ken Jeong) was at the height of his power as the power-mad emperor of the Spanish class the study group was trying to pass. Troy Barnes (Donald Glover) and Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase) were embarrassed that they didn't get any valentines delivered to them from the Greendale Human Being mascot-thing. Their attempts to save face backfired when Chang called them out for sending valentines to themselves and pretending they were real.
Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Annie (Alison Brie) decided to try and turn the tables on Chang by sending him a fake letter from Princeton, but after seeing right through it, Change pinned it on Troy and Pierce and forced them to come to the school dance dressed in "elegant ladies' pantsuits" if they wanted to pass the class.
And so they did... and elegant they were.
