This Wheel of Fortune contestant needs to catch up on his classic American folk music. On Thursday night, which marked the 47th anniversary of the beloved game show, Shafi Khan flubbed a seemingly obvious puzzle about Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land" with a guess that Twitter users dubbed "the dumbest Wheel of Fortune solve ever."
With just three letters remaining, Shafi guessed, "This band has made for you and me?" Pat Sajak was nice about the terrible guess, but his inner snark did come out a bit when he replied, "Uh, no. Lot of nice words, but not a puzzle."
Most contestants would lick their wounds after an embarrassing mistake like that, but Shafi rebounded and eventually made it to the bonus round, where he amassed $71,750. That's certainly a good way to turn around your day.
Wheel of Fortune airs every weeknight. To find your local time and station, head to the show's website.
