Netflix has so many good shows that it can be hard to keep up at times. While this is great for viewers, it can make it difficult for some of the streaming service's crown jewels to stand out. That was the case with GLOW last season, as it seemed to take a backseat to newcomers Russian Doll and The Kominsky Method, which is a shame, as it's one of the very best shows on television. Fortunately, it's back this week and has Netflix the spotlight all to itself.
NEW SEASON: After running into walls last year while pursuing financing, the cast of GLOW heads to Vegas for Season 3, with a residency that lets them put on a show, while giving everyone a change of scenery. And while we're a bit nervous to see how certain storylines play out (please tread carefully with Ruth and Sam), we're thrilled to get back to the characters we love, the needle drops we jam to, and the chance to see what Geena Davis brings to the series. SERIES PREMIERE: Amazon's Free Meek sits at the crossroads between tabloid celebrity series and true crime documentary. When rapper Meek Mill was arrested in 2017 for probation violations, the outcry sparked an examination into our justice system, as well as an investigation into the original case. As our Aaron Barnhart writes in his review, what begins as a depressingly familiar tale becomes hopeful as Meek becomes the face of the justice reform movement. Streaming on Amazon Prime

SERIES PREMIERE: Netflix's new documentary series The Family looks to be an eye-opener about D.C. politics and the lingering influence of the Christian right.
