Netflix Dominates Another Friday with BoJack, Kominsky and Prank Encounters

While next Friday promises to be Peak TV's biggest day yet, with the launch of Apple TV+ (andits many new shows), Netflix remains the dominant player this week, premiering fresh seasons of two popular shows, debuting a new series with ties to its biggest hit, along with a half dozen other releases, including a new installment of David Letterman's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Meanwhile, CBS and ABC have lined up a slate of Halloween episodes for American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, Magnum P.I., and Hawaii Five-O. Here are today's highlights:  

SEASON PREMIERE: Returning for the first half of its final season is BoJack Horseman, the adult animated comedy known for tackling weighty subjects like depression, addiction, aging, and existential dread. Primetimer's Kevin O'Keefe says this season is no less ambitious, with a riotously funny standout episode that you have to see to believe. Watch the preview. Streaming on Netflix

SEASON PREMIERE: Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin return for the second season of Chuck Lorre's The Kominsky Method. This season will see Norman (Arkin) reconnect with an old flame (played by Jane Seymour), while Sandy (Douglass) meets and bonds with his daughter's new older boyfriend (played by Paul Reiser). Watch the preview. SERIES PREMIERE:  Netflix's latest teen-oriented series has already faced its fair share of controversy. Hosted by Stranger Things' Gaten Matarazzo,  Prank Encounters is a Punk'd-like hidden camera show that promises to scare the bejesus out of unsuspecting job-seekers. Watch the preview. MOVIE PREMIERE: Carmen Ejogo (True Detective) stars in the psychological thriller Rattlesnake as a single mother swho gets help from a stranger when her daughter is bitten by a Rattlesnake, only to learn the lifesaving efforts don't come free. Watch the trailer. Streaming on Netflix

SERIES PREMIERE: Hulu's appropriately named Zomboat! is a new zombie apocalypse comedy that sees its heroes fleeing for their lives on a very slow moving boat. Watch the preview. Streaming on Hulu
