Fans were thrown for quite the scare in the final moments of last week's midseason preturn of This is Us, as Randall (Sterling K. Brown) came face to face with a knife-weilding intruder in his kitchen. This week picks up at that pivotal moment, setting off what showrunner Dan Fogelman calls the setup to the show's second big "trilogy."
