As Primetimer's Joe Reid writes, we've never known less about a new season of Big Brother ahead of its premiere than we do today. Part of that is out of necessity — the show's cast has reportedly been in quarantine over the last two weeks, submitting to multiple COVID-19 tests to ensure that BB 22 is a virus-free zone. Rumor has it that several would-be houseguests tested positive, and CBS has said it won't be revealing the season's all-star cast until they arrive at the house in tonight's live two-hour premiere. Also today: CBS has another challenge in store for the Tough as Nails teams, Catfish airs its first virtual season, and MTV has brought True Life back for the age of quarantine. Here's what's new and noteworthy on TV this Wednesday:
SEASON PREMIERE: Kicking off what promises to be a season like no other, an unknown number of former houseguests are set to enter the Big Brother house tonight, live and in real-time. Julie Chen returns as host. 9:00 PM ET on CBS
SEASON PREMIERE: As Primetimer's Jessica Liese writes today. MTV's Catfish, like its audience, is a much more savvy show than it was when it first aired in 2012. The series airs its first virtual episode tonight as it kicks off Season 9 with Nev and Kamie overcoming quarantine to help Jason find the goods on model Keith. 8:00 PM ET on VH1
NEW EPISODE: The Tough as Nails teams go head to head in a challenge involving 24 heavy barrels and one unforgiving hill. Later, one competitor takes on a telephone pole. 8:00 PM ET on CBS
