As Primetimer's Joe Reid writes today, a lot has changed since 2005, but one thing's been consistent: Supernatural. The long-running CW series that debuted way back when it was still The WB airs the first of its final seven episodes tonight. Also today: NBC brings Seth Meyers to primetime for a new election-themed limited series, Connecting attempts to be the Friends of the Zoom era, and Star Trek: Lower Decks wraps its first season. SERIES RETURN: Completing a final season that was cut short by last spring's production shutdowns, Dean (Jensen Ackles), Sam (Jared Padalecki ), and the rest of the Supernatural crew are back. In tonight's return, the brothers find a wood nymph is living in the bunker, and she's willing to do anything to protect her family. Watch the preview. 8:00 PM ET on The CW
SERIES PREMIERE: Six months into the pandemic, TV's teleconference-based productions are coming at us fast and furious. NBC's new half-hour comedy Connecting sees a tight-knit group of friends keeping in touch via a Zoom-like platform, complete with a Ross and Rachel-style will they or won't they romantic storyline. SERIES PREMIERE: Returning to the spot he once occupied as co-anchor of SNL's Weekend Update Thursday, Late Night host Seth Meyers brings his popular "Closer Look" segment to primetime this election season with a new limited series titled — you guessed it — Closer Look Thursday. Airs live at at 8:30 PM ET on NBC
PREMIERE MOVIE: Dirt bike gangs rule the summer streets of Baltimore, attracting would be recruits like fourteen-year-old Mouse (Jahi Di’Allo Winston) with the promise of excitement in Charm City Kings, but the boy's mother (Teyonah Parris) and concerned police detective (William Catlett) hope to offer Mouse a better option.
