Sophomore Seasons Take Center Stage In a Busy Weekend on TV

Lupin, Flack, Tuca & Bertie, and Love, Victor lead a host of series returning to streaming and cable.

    It's a sophomore season bonanza this weekend on TV, as Lupin, Tuca & Bertie, Betty, Flack and Love, Victor return to streaming and cable. Plus, NBC is treating Olympics junkies to the U.S. Swimming and Diving trials over the next few days, and AMC+ subscribers get an early look at Annie Murphy's Kevin Can F***k Himself. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    FRIDAY JUNE 11

    SEASON PREMIERES

    Love, Victor: Complete second season. As a newly out of the closet Victor (Michael Cimino) enters his junior year at Creekwood High, he must deal with the realities of being an openly gay star athlete and a family struggling with his revelation. Red our review. Streaming on Hulu

    Betty: Set against the backdrop of the pandemic, Betty Season 2 tracks its five protagonists as they step firmly into womanhood and navigate the ups and downs of dating, work, and, of course, skateboarding. Watch trailer. 11:00 PM ET on HBO

    U.S. Olympic Diving Trials: Elite athletes head to Indianapolis to compete for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Diving Team. Two hours of coverage will air in the afternoon, followed by one hour in primetime. 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM ET/1:00 PM and 5:00 PM PT on NBC

    Major League Baseball: Depending on your region, FOX will air one of the following MLB games, all at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT on FOX.

    Tuca & Bertie: Following its hasty cancellation at Netflix, the animated comedy has found a new home on Adult Swim. In Season 2, Tuca (Tiffany Haddish) and Bertie (Ali Wong) battle their inner ghosts, while Speckle (Steven Yeun) is driven to the brink of insanity as he builds a new house.     Blindspotting: Starz adapts Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs’ 2018 film Blindspotting for the small screen in a new comedy series.     Kevin Can F**k Himself: Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy turns the "fat guy, skinny wife" sitcom trope on its head in AMC’s new multi-cam comedy.
