Foundation, Great British Baking Show, and Midnight Mass Lead a Packed Weekend

Streaming is the place to be this weekend as Apple TV+ bows its long-awaited Foundation adaptation, The Great British Baking Show returns to Netflix, and the 74th Annual Tony Awards jump to Paramount+. Plus, The Haunting of Hill House creators up the scare factor in Midnight Mass, Goliath drops its fourth and final season, and FX airs a follow-up to its bombshell doc Framing Britney Spears. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 24

Foundation: Series premiere. Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi trilogy gets the Apple TV+ treatment in this series adaptation starring Jared Harris as Dr. Hari Seldon, a revolutionary who ventures to the far reaches of the galaxy in hopes of preserving the future of civilization. The Great British Baking Show: Season premiere. 12 new amateur bakers enter the tent and show off their skills in the stateside debut of the feel-good competition series' new season. Streaming on Netflix

Midnight Mass: Complete limited series. Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) presents a new horror story about a community that begins experiencing miraculous events and frightening omens after the arrival of a mysterious priest. The Starling: Original movie. After Lilly (Melissa McCarthy) suffers a loss, a battle with a territorial Starling bird over her garden provides an unlikely vessel for her grief and gives her the courage to rediscover her capacity for love. The Morning Show: New episode. As Alex (Jennifer Aniston) looks to finalize her deal with UBA, Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) battles hurt feelings and her newfound distrust of Cory (Billy Crudup). Streaming on Apple TV+

Aly Raisman: Darkness to Light: Original documentary. 74th Annual Tony Awards: Awards show. Audra McDonald hosts the 2021 Tony Awards, which will celebrate the 2019-2020 season, cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. This year's full ceremony airs exclusively on streaming, while a companion event will be held on CBS. 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT on Paramount+

The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back: Special presentation. The Tonys spectacular continues with a two-hour live concert celebrating the return of Broadway.
