    Streaming is the place to be this weekend as Apple TV+ bows its long-awaited Foundation adaptation, The Great British Baking Show returns to Netflix, and the 74th Annual Tony Awards jump to Paramount+. Plus, The Haunting of Hill House creators up the scare factor in Midnight Mass, Goliath drops its fourth and final season, and FX airs a follow-up to its bombshell doc Framing Britney Spears. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 24

    Foundation: Series premiere. Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi trilogy gets the Apple TV+ treatment in this series adaptation starring Jared Harris as Dr. Hari Seldon, a revolutionary who ventures to the far reaches of the galaxy in hopes of preserving the future of civilization.     The Great British Baking Show: Season premiere. 12 new amateur bakers enter the tent and show off their skills in the stateside debut of the feel-good competition series' new season. Streaming on Netflix

    Midnight Mass: Complete limited series. Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) presents a new horror story about a community that begins experiencing miraculous events and frightening omens after the arrival of a mysterious priest. Stars Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), Hamish Linklater, and Annabeth Gish. Read our review. Streaming on Netflix

    Goliath: Complete fourth season (series finale). Billy McBride (Billy Bob Thornton) returns to his Big Law roots and joins forces with Patty (Nina Arianda) to take down one of America’s most insidious Goliaths: the opioid industry. Watch trailer. Streaming on Amazon Prime Video

    The Starling: Original movie. After Lilly (Melissa McCarthy) suffers a loss, a battle with a territorial Starling bird over her garden provides an unlikely vessel for her grief and gives her the courage to rediscover her capacity for love.     Birds of Paradise: Original movie. When ambitious ballerina Kate (Diana Silvers) is given a scholarship to attend a prestigious ballet school in Paris, she clashes with her beautiful, mysterious classmate, Marine (Kristine Froseth). Watch trailer. Streaming on Amazon Prime Video

    The Morning Show: New episode. As Alex (Jennifer Aniston) looks to finalize her deal with UBA, Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) battles hurt feelings and her newfound distrust of Cory (Billy Crudup). Streaming on Apple TV+

    Jailbirds: New Orleans: Complete first season. Netflix brings its Jailbirds franchise to the Orleans Justice Center in New Orleans, where incarcerated women share their stories and engage in feuds, flirtations, and toilet talk. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Aly Raisman: Darkness to Light: Original documentary. Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman recounts her tumultuous journey to healing in this three-hour documentary special that sees the gymnast meet with individuals who have suffered abuse and form a community of survivors. The team behind Framing Britney Spears returns with a follow-up doc exploring new allegations from insiders with knowledge of Spears' daily life under her now 13-year conservatorship.     74th Annual Tony Awards: Awards show. Audra McDonald hosts the 2021 Tony Awards, which will celebrate the 2019-2020 season, cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. This year's full ceremony airs exclusively on streaming, while a companion event will be held on CBS. 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT on Paramount+

    The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back: Special presentation. The Tonys spectacular continues with a two-hour live concert celebrating the return of Broadway. The Leslie Odom Jr.-hosted event will feature performances from the Best Musical nominees and the live presentation of three top Tony Awards: Best Play, Best Revival of a Play, and Best Musical.     BMF: Series premiere. A riff on “Black Mafia Family,” this drama tracks the rise of Detroit’s Flenory brothers as they launch a cocaine empire in the late 1980s. Newcomer Demetrius Flenory Jr. stars as his father “Big Meech,” and Da’Vinchi (grown-ish) as his younger brother, “Southwest T” Flenory. Snoop Dogg and Emine also appearin recurring roles.     Family Guy: Season premiere. With her vision waning, Lois (Alex Borstein) elects to get LASIK surgery, but exploits her new disability for momentary gain. 9:30 PM ET on FOX

    Nuclear Family: Docuseries premiere. Filmmaker Ry Russo-Young explores growing up as the daughter of two lesbian mothers in the late 1970s-early 1980s, a time when the concept of a gay family was inconceivable to many, in this three-part docuseries. Read our review. 10:00 PM ET on HBO
