Spooky Season Hits Full Swing With New Chucky, Day of the Dead Series

    Syfy and USA team up to revamp two iconic horror stories tonight with the debut of Chucky, a new series about the killer doll’s untold origins, and a special preview of Day of the Dead, inspired by George A. Romero’s zombie universe. Also today: Dancing with the Stars stays on theme with a special Disney villains night, the Only Murders in the Building trio faces a revolt, and Tom Hanks and Laura Dern stump for the Academy in a new ABC special. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this Tuesday:

    Chucky: Series premiere. After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a yard sale, an idyllic town is thrown into murderous chaos. Watch trailer. 10:00 PM ET on Syfy and USA

    Day of the Dead: Special presentation. Syfy and USA take the wraps off their new George A. Romero-inspired reboot ahead of its official premiere this Friday.     Dancing with the Stars: The competition series concludes Disney Week with performances that pay homage to the studio's most iconic villains. 8:00 PM ET on ABC

    Only Murders in the Building: With the residents unhappy with the building’s negative publicity, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) face a revolt. Later, Charles is visited by an old colleague who sheds light on his past. Streaming on Hulu

    A Night in the Academy Museum: Special presentation. Oscar winners Laura Dern and Tom Hanks invite viewers into the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in this one-hour event. Featuring appearances from Melissa McCarthy, Geena Davis, Diane Warren, and Jon M. Chu. 10:00 PM ET on ABC

    The Movies That Made Us: New episodes. The Netflix docuseries returns to explore four more generation-defining films: Robocop, Aliens, Hallloween and Friday the 13th. Streaming on Netflix

    FBI: International: The team investigates an American citizen who arrives at Madrid’s U.S. embassy proclaiming his innocence, while still covered in the blood of his murdered Spanish boyfriend. Watch preview. 9:00 PM ET on CBS

    FBI: Most Wanted: When a young Chinese-American woman goes missing, the Fugitive Task Force must determine if it was a random hate crime or if she was specifically targeted. Watch preview. 10:00 PM ET on CBS
