Christmas Week officially kicks off today with Dynasty’s holiday-themed Season 5 premiere, Nick Cannon’s Miracles Across 125th Street, and a host of specials on broadcast and cable. Plus, a new HBO documentary looks at what it took to bring back Shakespeare in the Park this past summer, and the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears pull double duty on ABC and ESPN. Dynasty: Season premiere. The Carringtons and the Colbys celebrate the holidays in a two-episode premiere that tracks the group as they deal with the fallout from Blake’s (Grant Show) gala and Alexis’ (Elaine Hendrix) continued time in jail. Watch trailer. 8:00 PM ET on The CW
Miracles Across 125th Street: TV movie. Nick Cannon writes, directs, and stars in this VH1 movie about a Harlem rapper who returns to his family’s church to confront his past on Christmas Eve. The Secrets of Christmas: Revealed: Special presentation. Tubi and FOX expose the inner workings of Christmas in this play-along special that sees “Christmas experts” examine a trove of secret documents about Santa Claus’ annual operation. 8:00 PM ET on FOX
Candy Cane Candidate: TV movie. After her campaign for city council ends in a landslide loss, Julia (Jacky Lai) returns to her hometown for Christmas to drown her sorrows. When she runs into her old high school rival (Jake Epstein), they once again find themselves facing off, but their frosty relationship begins to thaw as they discover winning isn’t everything. One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Encore presentation. Taped in August at Radio City Music Hall, this CBS special commemorates Bennett’s 95th birthday and the culmination of his decade-long partnership with Lady Gaga.
