New on TV this Monday: Olivier Assayas puts a fresh spin on his 1996 film Irma Vep in HBO’s series adaptation of the same name, American Ninja Warrior introduces four new obstacles for Season 14, Bill Burr and his friends take over Netflix, and Roswell, New Mexico and In the Dark begin their final seasons on The CW.
Irma Vep: Series premiere. Disillusioned by her carer and a recent breakup, American movie star Mira (Alicia Vikander) travels to France to star as “Irma Vep” in a remake of the French silent film classic Les Vampires. Against the backdrop of the lurid crime thriller, Mira struggles as the distinctions between herself and her character begin to blur. American Ninja Warrior: Season 14 premiere. Competitors as young as 15 gather at San Antonio’s Alamodome to compete in the world’s most challenging obstacle course. 8:00 PM ET on NBC
