Netflix Bows Teen Vampire Drama First Kill, Peaky Blinders Bids Farewell

    After a sluggish few months, Netflix is rolling out several high-profile new releases this weekend, including queer teen vampire drama First Kill, the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders, and Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute.

    Elsewhere on television, For All Mankind and Evil return with their third seasons, the Tony Awards air on CBS and Paramount+, Amy Schumer and friends hit the stage, and more. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    FRIDAY JUNE 10

    First Kill: Complete first season. When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) to make her first kill, she sets her sights on a new girl named Calliope (Imani Lewis), who just so happens to be a vampire hunter. As their relationship deepens, the two star-crossed teens must square their feelings with the expectations put upon them by their demanding families. Read our review. Streaming on Netflix

    Peaky Blinders: Complete Season 6 (series finale). As fascism continues to spread, Tommy (Cilian Murphy) finds himself in the middle of the tension, even as he sets off for North America, where the end of prohibition brings new opportunities. The final season sees the Shelby family without their matriarch Polly, after actor Helen McCrory died of breast cancer in April 2021. Read our review. Streaming on Netflix

    Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute: Special presentation. John Stamos, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Jeff Ross, and others pay tribute to Full House star Bob Saget in this special, filmed at the Comedy Store in Hollywood after his death in January. Streaming on Netflix

    For All Mankind: Season 3 premiere. Apple’s sci-fi series shifts the action into the early 1990s with a high-octane race to the new planetary frontier of Mars. The entire ensemble returns for Season 3, alongside newcomer Edi Gathegi, who plays a charismatic visionary with his sights set on the stars. Read our review. Streaming on Apple TV+

    Fairfax: Complete Season 2. The gang of middle schoolers is back for more misadventures in a new season of the animated comedy. Season 2 features voice work from guest stars Billy Porter, Zoey Deutch, Guy Fieri, Camila Mendes, and more. Watch trailer. Streaming on Amazon Prime Video

    Hollywood Houselift With Jeff Lewis: Series premiere. Famed interior designer Jeff Lewis helps some of Hollywood’s most familiar faces transform their spaces in his new home renovation series.     The Essex Serpent: Limited series finale. Tom Hiddleston and Claire Danes’ sultry drama wraps after six episodes. Streaming on Apple TV+

    Bunk’d: Season 6 premiere. After Lou (Miranda May) buys a dude ranch in Wyoming and starts a new camp, Parker (Trevor Tordjman), Destiny (Mallory James Mahoney), and Noah (Israel Johnson) travel west to check it out. The group will be joined this season by new cast members Shiloh Verrico, Luke Busey, and Alfred Lewis. Watch preview. 7:30 PM ET on Disney Channel

    Charmed: Series finale. Mel (Melonie Diaz), Maggie (Sarah Jeffery), and Kaela (Lucy Barrett) discover that the cabal of foes coalescing to bring down the Power of Three are actually working for an ancient evil that’s been laying dormant since the dawn of magic. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on The CW

    First Blood: Series premiere. A&E's newest true crime series examines some of America’s most notorious serial killers through the prism of their first known kills. The premiere centers on Aileen Wuornos, while other episodes focus on Richard Ramirez and Ed Kemper. 9:00 PM ET on A&E

    Panic 9-1-1: Season 3 premiere. Audio from real 9-1-1 calls, stylized recreations, and interviews with those involved are weaved together in a new season of this true-crime thriller. The series last aired in 2013 but returns after a nearly decade-long hiatus. 10:00 PM ET on A&E

    Dirty Little Secret: TV movie. 17-year-old Lucy (Lizzie Boys) is eager to go to college and escape her mother Joanna’s (Melissa Joan Hart) hoarding disorder, but when tragedy strikes, Lucy must decide if she will hide her mother’s secret, or expose it to the world. 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    Caribbean Summer: TV movie. Forced to take a vacation after an embarrassing gaffe during a live broadcast, morning news producer Jade (Heather Hemmens) travels to a Caribbean island where she begins a romantic adventure with the owner of the house she’s renting, Ser’Darius Blain co-stars.     Despicable Me 3:  After the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him, Gru (Steve Carell) travels to Freedonia to meet his long-lost twin brother for the first time. The reunited siblings soon find themselves in an uneasy alliance to take down the elusive Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker), a former 1980s child star who seeks revenge against the world.     75th Tony Awards: Special presentation. Oscar winner Ariana DeBose will host the 2022 ceremony, which will air its first hour exclusively on Paramount+ before CBS joins in for Act Two. Airs live coast-to-coast at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT on Paramount+ and 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT on CBS

    That’s My Time With David Letterman: Final three episodes. David Letterman invites young comics on stage to perform and then join him for a one-of-a-kind interview in this standup showcase filmed at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival. Streaming on Netflix

    Dark Winds: Series premiere. In 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation, Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) of the Tribal Police is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes, but the closer Leaphorn digs to the truth, the more he exposes the wounds of the past.
