    This weekend brings a host of major releases on streaming, including Neil Patrick Harris’ Uncoupled, Prime Video sci-fi drama Paper Girls, and psychological thriller Surface on Apple TV+.

    Plus, Bonnie Hunt brings Amber Brown to the small screen, Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien headline Not Okay, Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo stars in Paramount+ movie Honor Society, and more. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    FRIDAY JULY 29

    Uncoupled: Complete Season 1. New York City real estate agent Michael Lawson (Neil Patrick Harris) seems to have it all figured out, but when his long-term partner (Tuc Watkins) suddenly moves out, Michael must learn how to navigate life as a single gay man in his mid-forties. The new single-cam comedy is created by Sex and the City’s Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, and also stars Tisha Campbell and Marcia Gay Harden. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Paper Girls: Complete first season. In the early morning hours after Halloween 1988, four paper girls become caught in the crossfire between warring time-travelers. Transported into the future, the girls must find out a way to get back home to the past, a journey that brings them face-to-face with the grown-up versions of themselves. The series boasts a cast of up-and-coming stars alongside Ali Wong as one of the adult paper girls. Read our review. Streaming on Prime Video

    Surface: Limited series premiere. Gugu Mbatha-Raw stars in and executive produces this psychological thriller about a woman with a traumatic head injury who suffers from extreme memory loss. As she attempts to put the pieces of her life back together, she begins to question whether the truth she’s being told is in fact the truth she actually lived. Read our review.     Amber Brown: Complete first season. Bonnie Hunt adapts Paula Danzinger's bestselling books into a new series that follows a girl (Carsyn Rose) who finds her own voice through art and music in the wake of her parents divorce. Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy) co-stars as Amber’s mother. Watch trailer. Streaming on Apple TV+ 

    Not Okay: Original movie. Desperate for friends and fame, a young woman (Zoey Deutch) fakes a trip to Paris to gain followers, but things get complicated after a terrifying incident occurs in real life. The Fox Searchlight comedy also stars Dylan O’Brien as a popular influencer who becomes unknowingly involved in the con. Watch trailer. Streaming on Hulu

    Honor Society: Original movie. Willing to do whatever it takes to get into Harvard, Honor (Angourie Rice) concocts a plan to take down three other high-achieving students, but things take an unexpected turn when she falls for her biggest competitor, Michael (Gaten Matarazzo).     NYC Point Gods: Original documentary. Kevin Durant produces this documentary about the New York City basketball legends of the 1980s and 1990s who fused fashion, hip-hop, and on-court talent in a way that forever changed the game. Watch trailer. 9:00 PM ET on Showtime

    Purple Hearts: Original movie. A struggling singer-songwriter (Sofia Carson) and a troubled marine (Nicholas Galitzine) agree to marry solely for military benefits, but when tragedy strikes, the line between real and pretend begins to blur. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    Shark Week 2022: Discovery offers another night of shark-filled programming, beginning with Jaws vs The Blob, in which experts explore whether a gaggle of juvenile great whites can survive the threat of monster 20-foot great whites. 8:00 PM ET on Discovery and Discovery+

    Ready to Love: Season 6 premiere. 20 single Black men and women head to Miami for a pool mixer, where veteran host Tommy Miles advises them to seek “love over lust,” in a new season of OWN’s dating show. Watch trailer. 8:00 PM ET on OWN

    Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Season 3 premiere. The members of the Midnight Society visit a remote island resort for summer vacation, but they soon discover a terrifying entity haunting the guests and learn the truth behind the island’s resident ghosts.     WWE SummerSlam 2022: Special presentation. WWE’s biggest names gather at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee for a night of marquee matchups, including what might be the final bout between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. 8:00 PM ET on Peacock

    Furious 7: Special airing. After defeating international terrorist Owen Shaw, Dom (Vin Diesel) and the crew must contend with a revenge-seeking Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), Owen’s older brother, and turn to a slick government agent (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) for help.     Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: Limited series finale. After losing all her children, Olivia’s (Jemima Rooper) newfound religious beliefs and her desire to wreak vengeance on those around her drive her to become the most notorious and terrifying version of herself. 8:00 PM ET on Lifetime

    A Splash of Love: TV movie. When a PhD student (Rhiannon Fish) expands her studies to include the whales of the Pacific Northwest, she meets a whale watching tour guide (Benjamin Hollingsworth), and they quickly find themselves bonding over more than just Orcas.     Shark Week 2022: Discovery’s marquee event comes to an end with two new specials, Cape Cod-set Monsters of the Cape and Tahitian expedition Sharks in Paradise, followed by an encore of Jackass Shark Week 2.0. Starts at 8:00 PM ET on Discovery and Discovery+

    Major League Baseball: It’s Baseball Night in America on FOX, which offers one of two games, depending on your region, at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT:

    Riverdale: Season 6 finale. Archie (KJ Apa) and the gang band together to save Riverdale from the greatest threat the town has ever faced. The hit teen drama has been renewed for a seventh and final season, which is expected to premiere in early 2023. Watch preview. 8:00 PM ET on The CW

    City on a Hill: Season 3 premiere. Having left the FBI and thrown his badge into Boston Harbor, Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon) lands a lavish new gig running security for a wealthy family, but it’s not long before his secrets begin to unravel his new life. Meanwhile, when an investigation opens, ADA Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge) sees an opportunity to finally rip out the machinery perpetuating a broken criminal justice system.
