Big Brother season 27 aired its first live eviction episode on Thursday, July 17, 2025, revealing the outcome of Head of Household Vince’s nominations and the impact of the newly introduced BB Blockbuster competition. At the start of the week, Vince had targeted Keanu, influenced by housemate Jimmy. However, after shifting dynamics and unexpected reactions, the final nominations included Zae, Amy and Kelley.
Kelley had volunteered to be a pawn in Vince’s plan, believing it could help his strategy and her own standing in the game in Big Brother. “I thought I could do something cool,” she said before stepping into the risky position. As eviction night approached, she found herself depending on a brand-new twist to escape the block.
In the first-ever BB Blockbuster competition, players had to solve a scrambled phrase that pointed to an object in the room. Kelley correctly identified the answer as “crown,” retrieved it, and buzzed in first—winning safety and removing herself from the vote.
With Kelley now safe, the eviction came down to Zae and Amy. Despite his campaigning and alliance efforts, Zae was evicted in a unanimous 9-0 vote. His exit marked the first elimination of Big Brother 27 and signaled early shifts in alliances and influence.
The episode’s central twist revolved around the BB Blockbuster competition, introduced as a new element for Big Brother season 27. For this challenge, players were given four scrambled words. Once solved, the phrase would lead them to a specific object in the room. The first to retrieve the object and hit their buzzer would earn safety from the block.
Kelley, who had volunteered to go on the block as a pawn, solved the puzzle and realized the object was a crown. She quickly located it, hit the buzzer, and won the competition. With that move, she removed herself from the nominations. “I thought I could do something cool,” she had told the house before offering to be a pawn, and the win validated that gamble.
Her victory forced the remaining houseguests to choose between evicting Zae or Amy. Rachel, who had aligned herself closely with Amy, made it known that she wanted Zae to leave. Meanwhile, Amy used her speech to highlight that Zae posed a bigger threat both physically and mentally. Zae countered by warning that Amy was effectively giving Rachel a second vote, potentially helping her reach the Final 5.
This development shifted the game’s power structure. While Kelley’s decision to volunteer as a pawn could have ended her game early, her win in the BB Blockbuster gave her a clean escape. Meanwhile, Vince’s HOH reign—initially aimed at controlling the narrative—ended with one of the original targets (Keanu) untouched, and a different nominee going home.
Once Kelley won safety, Zae and Amy became the final nominees. Zae attempted to secure votes by forming a new alliance with Vince, Will, Zach, and Rylie, naming the group the “Burger Boys.” He hoped their support would protect him, but tensions escalated when he warned Rachel that her chances of winning again would end if he stayed in the house.
“As long as I’m in this house, there’s no way you win two seasons,” he told her.
The remark led Rachel to push harder for Amy to stay. Zae argued that Amy’s loyalty to Rachel would give her added control over the game. Amy countered by calling Zae a bigger threat due to his strength in both mental and physical competitions.
When the house voted, the result was unanimous: Zae was evicted 9-0. The outcome left Rachel and Amy with increased influence as the Big Brother house prepared for the next Head of Household competition.
