Love Island USA contestant Cierra Ortega broke her silence on Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen’s relationship in a July 20 Instagram video, two weeks after her exit from the villa.

Cierra had been removed from the show during the July 6 episode after the resurfacing of a past racial slur.

Following her departure, Nic chose to remain in the villa and later recoupled with Olandria, going on to finish second in the season 7 finale.

In her video, Cierra was seen on vacation in Greece and she said,

“I didn’t even actually get to break up with him and he’s already with the next girl.”

While she did not mention names directly, the context and timing made it clear she was referring to Nic and Olandria.

Her comments come after a period of online backlash and personal reflection. Since leaving the villa, Cierra has addressed the controversy surrounding her exit and has asked the public to refrain from targeting her family.

The latest video marks her first public remark about Nic’s new relationship and her portrayal on the show.

Love Island USA star Cierra indirectly addresses Nic and Olandria’s post-villa connection

In her July 20 Instagram video, Cierra Ortega shared a message that appeared to reflect on how things ended with Nic Vansteenberghe and how quickly he moved on with fellow Islander Olandria Carthen after Love Island USA.

Though she avoided naming them directly, the message included statements like,

“Thanks, I booked a flight to Mykonos after surviving the villain edit on reality TV and I didn’t end up with the guy who never actually liked me and wanted my friend the entire time.”

The clip was set to an audio that expressed not getting a chance to break up before the other person moved on to someone else, which many viewers took as a reference to Nic and Olandria’s current relationship.

Meanwhile, Nic explained his decision to stay in Love Island USA villa on the Chicks in the Office podcast, saying,

“It was a completely normal day. She just left. It was some sort of personal reason.”

He added that he chose to remain in the villa to better understand the situation and avoid making a rushed decision.

Nic explained that if the situation outside the villa was something he didn’t align with, staying with Cierra could have been seen as him supporting it.

Cierra reflects on backlash and asks for privacy for her family

Following her departure from Love Island USA, Cierra Ortega shared a separate video on July 9 where she acknowledged the backlash and called for an end to the harassment of her loved ones.

“They have had ICE called on them,” she revealed, adding that her family no longer felt safe in their own home. She also mentioned receiving death threats, stating,

“There’s no need to fight hate with hate.”

Cierra said she understood the severity of the situation and took “accountability” for her actions.

“This is something that deserved punishment, and the punishment has absolutely been received,” she noted.

She admitted that the backlash had been difficult to manage, but recognized why people were upset and confused by what had come to light.

As Nic and Olandria continued to progress in Love Island USA villa and eventually placed second in the finale, Cierra began to distance herself from the show. Her recent social media posts have focused on her travels and hinted at a desire to move on from the experience.
