Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, after battling Parkinson's disease, emphysema, and spinal injuries for the last few years. Black Sabbath's lead singer's death was announced by his family on Instagram. They shared that Ozzy was surrendered by his loved ones in his final moments.
Ozzy Osbourne was married to Thelma Riley from 1971 to 1982. The singer married his manager, Sharon Rachel Levy, the same year he divorced Riley.
They remained married till his passing. The couple had three children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.
In his 2020 documentary, The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne shared that on September 3, 1989, her husband tried to strangle her after he was intoxicated with drugs and alcohol.
"We've come to a decision that you've got to die," the singer supposedly said.
Sharon survived that day after she found a panic button and pressed it, which alerted the police. She said in the documentary that she was "the most frightened" on that day.
Ozzy was arrested. Notably, Sharon did not press charges. She forgave him after he spent six months in a detention centre.
"He dived on me and started to choke me. I felt for stuff on the table, found a panic button, and pressed it. All of a sudden, the cops were here. It was probably the most frightened that I'd ever been," Sharon said.
In 2016, various media outlets reported that Ozzy Osbourne had an affair with his former hairdresser, Michael Pugh. Pugh also admitted to People magazine that the affair took place from 2012 to 2016, when she worked for him.
In January 2024, Sharon stated in her show, Sharon Osbourne: Cut the Crap, that she almost took her life after she heard the affair news.
Her maid found her unconscious when she overdosed and saved her life. The couple briefly split at the time, before getting back together in July 2016. Sharon publicly forgave Ozzy in her show, The Talk.
In 2017, during an interview with Rolling Stone, the singer was asked about his marriage and how they had kept it intact for decades.
Ozzy replied jokingly that one shouldn't get "caught" by the wife.
The singer then stated that he was not proud of his actions and was grateful that his wife hadn't left him.
Ozzy Osbourne acknowledged that the affair "upset" his wife and family, and brought "shock and shame."
"When I was a crazy f**ker, I'm lucky she didn't walk out. Now I'm coming on five years clean and sober, and I've realized what a f**king idiot I was. I mean, I'm still nuts, but in control of it a bit more. When I said, 'Don't get caught by your missus,' I'm not proud of all that sh*t. I upset my wife, and I upset my family, and I made a lot of shock and shame," he said.
Ozzy Osbourne was 76 years old at the time of his passing, and he is survived by his wife and children.
