Justin Bieber has reportedly settled debt with his former manager, Scooter Braun. TMZ reported on July 10, 2025, that sources close to the two stated that the debt is supposedly settled.
In 2022, Justin Bieber was scheduled to do a world tour in support of his 2021 album, Justice. However, the singer canceled the tour halfway due to health reasons.
The tour's promoter company, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), paid Bieber $40 million in advance. After the cancellation, they demanded $26 million back.
Hybe America paid $26 million to AEG on behalf of Justin Bieber. The singer owed the amount to Scooter Braun, who was the CEO of Hybe America at the time. According to TMZ's July 10, 2025, report, it was decided that the singer would pay back the amount in installments over 10 years. He reportedly paid for the first year and then stopped making payments.
The media outlet reported Bieber also owed Braun $11 million for commissions. Meanwhile, in May 2025, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) conducted an audit and revealed that the singer owed Braun another $8.6 million in commissions.
The sources claimed the commissions debt will be repaid as well.
In May 2025, a source close to Scooter Braun told the Daily Mail that the artist manager was supposedly displeased with Bieber over money issues. They said that the pop star reportedly didn't pay back Braun for years.
The source stated that Braun was seemingly upset that Bieber was allegedly "partying" and spending millions at Coachella, without paying him back. They also shared that Scooter Braun felt "taken advantage of."
Braun appeared on the June 9, 2025, episode of The Diary of a CEO podcast and stated that his relationship with Justin Bieber has changed over the years.
He claimed the singer now wants to show others that he can achieve success by himself. Scooter then said that he respects the singer's decisions and he and his old team are "rooting for him."
"[It's] not the same that it was. I think these things go in ebbs and flows. There comes a point where I understand he probably wants to go on and show that he can do it. We worked together for so long, and we had such extreme success, and I think you get to a point as a man where you want to show the world you can do it on your own," Scooter Braun said.
On July 1, 2025, Braun stepped down from the CEO position of Hybe America. However, he would remain a member of the company's board of directors and a senior adviser.
According to Billboard's report dated July 1, 2025, Hybe Latin America's former chairman, Isaac Lee, replaced Braun as the company's American subsidiaries.
In other news, Justin Bieber will release his new album SWAG on July 11, 2025. It features Cash Cobain, Gunna, Lil B, and Sexxy Red among others. The singer's last album, Justice, was released in 2021.
