Roc Nation founder Jay-Z reportedly owes Nicki Minaj millions of dollars. Taking to her X on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the songstress shared a series of posts shading Hov, even claiming he owed her money for her equity in TIDAL stemming from the platform's sale.
Minaj accused the rapper of owing her about $100 million and $200 million in "karmic debt," asking him to call her to "settle" the matter. She sarcastically added:
"It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my TOP 5 tho. Let’s get it n**ga. And anyone still calling him Hov will answer to God for the blasphemy."

For context, TIDAL is a music streaming service founded in 2014. A year later, the Roc Nation-owned company, Project Panther Bidco Ltd., relaunched the platform with sixteen artist stakeholders, including Nicki Minaj, according to Billboard. In 2021, Tidal was sold to the Jack Dorsey-owned Square. Meanwhile, the artists reportedly kept their stake. The Pink Friday hitmaker was referencing her share of profits from the sale.
In a separate post, Onika told her fans (called barbz) she would use that money to pay some of their student loans, writing:
"I’m going to use some of the money #JayZ owes me to send some of my Barbz to college, pay their school fees & student loans via my #StudentOfTheGame charity."
According to Complex, Jack Dorsey-owned Square brought majority ownership of TIDAL in early 2021 for $302 million. At the time, Nicki Minaj and other artist owners, like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Ye, reportedly kept their stakes.
However, the songstress claimed that they offered her only $1 million as payout and the $8.9 million that the company was valued at. In an X post last September, she alleged that she "declined" the offered million dollars, as she didn't want to be "silenced."
I received a call advising tidal was sold & they made no money on the deal so all they could offer me was a million dollars. 😅💰🤣 but wait, there’s more!

Nicki Minaj's tirade against Jay-Z's Roc Nation continued as she went on to call out its artist, Megan Thee Stallion, and its CEO, Desiree Perez.
In an Instagram post, Onika reshared a video claiming Perez abused her daughter, Demoree Hedley. Per the video, Perez claimed she held Hedley against her will and physically assaulted her.
Minaj was referencing Hedley's recent lawsuit against her mother. According to NBC6 South Florida, Demoree sued her mother in May for allegedly using "money, power, and influence" to have her committed to a mental health institution for two weeks without a cause. Hedley also claimed Perez "falsely accused" her husband, Javon Hadley, of "domestic violence."
In a separate post, Nicki Minaj shaded Megan Thee Stallion over her recent legal troubles. Notably, a federal judge denied Megan's motion to dismiss a s*xual harrasment and retaliation lawsuit.
According to Billboard, in his lawsuit, photographer Emilio Garcia claimed the rapper forced him to watch as she had s*x with another woman in a car. Garcia, a gay man, claimed the incident took place while on Tour in Ibiza, Spain, in 2022. He also claimed Megan made degrading remarks about her appearance and later fired him.
Referring to the suit, Nicki Minaj wrote:
"What was the name of that law again???????? Karma’s Law? Touch not my anointed law? Vengeance is the Lord’s law? We give God the glory & he’s only just begun. Have a blessed day if you can. lol the blogs posting lies, thank you. More money for me. We’re working. Trust."
Notably, Nicki was referencing the Texas musician's song Hiss, where she rapped, "These ho*s don’t be mad at Megan, these ho*s mad at Megan’s Law."
Onika also called out Jay-Z over his alleged son, Raymir Satterthwaite. She claimed a judge allowed Satterthwaite to move forward with his request for a paternity test to prove whether he is the music mogul's son. This remains unconfirmed.
This is not the first time Nicki Minaj has taken shots at Jay-Z. Last month, in the official remix of Lil Wayne's Banned from No, she called out Hov and Roc Nation's partnership with the NFL (referencing the Super Bowl performances).
"Man, b**ches already fadin’ like a barber / They know I don’t decline so they never face card her / French Vanilla Hazel Nut in my Starbucks / NFL, fire some n**gas and then call us"
Notably, this year's Super Bowl was held in Wayne's hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. However, Jay-Z and the NFL decided to choose Kendrick Lamar to perform at the halftime show. Nicki Minaj was one of the artists to speak up in support of Lil Wayne at the time.
Neither of the aforementioned celebrities has publicly responded to Onika's remarks as of this writing.
