Jimmy becomes HOH as secret powers shake up Big Brother season 27 week 2

Big Brother season 27 continued on July 20, 2025, with episode 5, picking up after the first eviction of the season. Zae was voted out in a 9–5 decision, leaving his allies, including Zach, visibly upset, while Amy remained safe for another week. Kelley celebrated her BB Blockbuster win, which had kept her off the block during the last nomination.

With battle lines beginning to form in the house, the new HOH competition offered a chance to shift the game again. The challenge took place in pitch-dark rooms underneath Hotel Mystere, where houseguests searched for one HOH key and three hidden mystery powers. Vince, the outgoing HOH, was allowed to compete for powers but not for the HOH position itself.

Jimmy ended up finding the HOH key, becoming the second Head of Household of the summer. Meanwhile, Mickey, Keanu, and Kelley each secured one of the three mystery powers. Each of these powers could significantly influence the game over the coming week — if used strategically.

As alliances started to break and trust became shaky, Jimmy faced important nomination choices. He hoped to keep his HOH week “clean” and avoid stirring up too much conflict in the house.

Following Zae’s departure, emotions ran high in the Big Brother house. Zach openly cried over losing his ally, while Rachel and Vinny expressed relief that Amy had stayed. Kelley, having saved herself in the BB Blockbuster challenge, stepped away to cry in private, calling them happy tears.

Meanwhile, Keanu was unaware that Rylie had flipped on the Burger Boys alliance to save Amy. She tried to solidify a new alliance with Rachel and Ashley by offering future loyalty. This shift created confusion as houseguests like Amy, Rachel, and Jimmy began speculating about the rogue votes. Will and Keanu debated who had voted to save Amy, with Keanu suspecting Will might be working for the other side.

Keanu later asked Kelley about Will’s theory, then told Rylie and Adrian that he believed Will was the rogue vote and should be targeted. This showed cracks forming in the Burger Boys alliance. Will, noticing Keanu’s doubts, tried to rebuild trust with Adrian and Kelley. Zach also shared that he wanted to win HOH to protect his allies after Zae’s eviction.

As the HOH competition approached, new alliances were forming, and old ones were starting to fall apart.

Jimmy wins HOH as mystery powers complicate decisions in Big Brother house

The HOH competition took place in the dark “sewers” of Hotel Mystere. Houseguests had to search for one HOH key and three hidden powers. Jimmy found the HOH key, while Keanu, Kelley, and Mickey each picked up a power. Vince, the former HOH, was only allowed to compete for a power.

The powers were later explained to viewers in Big Brother. Keanu’s power lets a past houseguest compete for him in the Veto, giving him an extra chance to win. Kelley’s power allows her to play a second, secret Veto competition to save herself or an ally. Mickey’s power gives her the option to secretly take over as HOH. If the original HOH can’t guess it was her, she becomes the new one.

Jimmy asked around to find out who had the mystery powers. Keanu and Mickey both denied it. Kelley admitted she had a power and also told Jimmy she shared this with Keanu. This made Jimmy worry they were working together.

Jimmy nominated Keanu, Kelley, and Adrian in Big Brother. He told Kelley and Adrian they were pawns, but made it clear Keanu was his target, saying he had “played too many people.” Now, the Veto and secret powers could change everything on Wednesday.
