The Hunting Wives, a drama TV series based on May Cobb's eponymous book, premiered on Netflix with all eight episodes on July 21, 2025. Created by Rebecca Cutter, the show follows a young woman named Sophie and her family as they move from Boston to Maple Brook, a fictional town in East Texas.

At Maple Brook, Sophie meets Margo Banks, an affluent socialite and leader of a secluded group of housewives. The circle's seductive lifestyle draws Sophie in, but soon she finds out that beyond the elegance lies a world of temptation, betrayal, and murder.

1) Brittany Snow as Sophie O'Neil

Brittany Snow portrays Sophie O'Neil, a former Chicago PR professional who moves to Texas with her family for her husband's job. Sophie is fascinated by the world of the affluent Margo Banks, and finds herself at the center of a murder mystery when a teenage girl named Abby Jackson is found dead.

Snow first gained recognition for her role as troubled teen Susan 'Daisy' Lemay in the CBS soap opera Guiding Light. Since then, she has appeared in many movies and TV series, such as Someone Great, the Pitch Perfect film series, and the NBC drama, American Dreams.

2) Malin Åkerman as Margo Banks

Malin Åkerman appears as Margo Banks, the charismatic leader of the affluent, gun-loving circle of housewives known as the Hunting Wives. Margo is the one who introduces Sophie to the world of glamor, secrets, and power plays.

Åkerman is a Swedish actress who started her career with small roles in movies like The Utopian Society and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. She has also appeared in several romantic comedies and Zack Snyder's 2009 superhero film Watchmen.

3) Evan Jonigkeit as Graham O'Neil

Evan Jonigkeit portrays Graham O'Neil, Sophie's husband, in The Hunting Wives. Graham is an architect and works for Margo's husband, Jed Banks. He believes that the shift from Boston to Texas will be good for his family, and also encourages Sophie to join Margo's group of housewives.

Jonigkeit had to leave behind his dreams of becoming a baseball player after suffering from tendonitis. He made his screen debut with a role in the superhero movie, X-Men: Days of Future Past. He earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for producing Stand For Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU with Tom Hanks, a live event on Facebook.

4) Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks

Dermot Mulroney plays Jed Banks, Margo's wealthy husband and Graham's boss. Jed is a fifth-generation oil magnate and Texas gubernatorial candidate. He is flirtatious and has no qualms about pushing boundaries even if it comes at the cost of his reputation.

Mulroney is best known for his roles in romantic comedies including My Best Friend's Wedding, which starred Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz. He also appeared in shows like Pure Genius and Shameless. Besides acting, Mulroney is a professional cellist and has played the instrument for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Incredibles 2, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
