Lil Baby again caught netizens' attention, this time for pocketing a fan's phone when they threw it on stage. The rapper picked it up while performing, then shoved it in his pocket. Last month, Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, made headlines for taking streamer Jack Doherty's $200,000 worth diamond chain at a club.

On June 11, 2025, a clip was shared on social media in which Lil Baby removed the streamer's chain while talking to him. Outside the club, Doherty requested that Jones return his chain. However, the rapper laughed and ignored Doherty before telling him to call the police instead.

On June 13, 2025, Lil Baby posted an Instagram story, sharing that he has returned the chain to Jack Doherty. The Instagram page The Neighborhood Talk reuploaded the rapper's recent clip, and it garnered a mixed reaction from netizens.

One user (@_krissijane_) jokingly commented that Lil Baby keeps "stealing" from people.

"He been stealing from everybody he just took that boy chain," they wrote.

In 2022, Lil Baby was rumored to have been robbed

In September 2022, the rapper was rumored to have been robbed by a few men in Los Angeles. His chain was supposedly taken that day. Netizens speculated that the alleged robbery was released to gangs, and rumors spread that Jones did not reportedly pay gang members, which led to the rumored chain robbery.

However, Jones shared on his Instagram stories that the news was false, and media outlets were supposedly using his name for attention and clicks.

"If you heard I got my chain snatch you heard a muthaf***ing lie, anything with baby name on it gets attention!" Lil Baby wrote on his stories.

In other news, the rapper recently got tattoos after being publicly against body art in the past. On July 14, 2025, he uploaded pictures on Instagram where his new tattoos can be seen. His right thigh has "90s," and his left thigh has "Baby" tattooed on it. Another tattoo down his right leg reads, "CBFW."

In an interview with The New York Times in February 2020, Jones stated that he didn't see himself as a rapper and had to keep his "appearance straight" so that when he sat down with White people, who helped him make money in the music industry, they wouldn't perceive him a certain way.

"I had to keep my appearance straight. I literally said, 'When I sit down in front of these white folks, I don't want to have no tattoos.' In a way, it's still that today. Because when I'm sitting in these meetings, I don't have tattoos on my face," the rapper said.

Lil Baby's upcoming album, Dominique, is scheduled to be released this year. The release date has not been announced.
