Patti LaBelle and Fantasia face off in playful episode of Celebrity Family Feud

Celebrity Family Feud aired a new episode on Thursday, July 24, 2025, featuring music legends Patti LaBelle and Fantasia as they competed with their families in a lighthearted face-off.

In a preview shared ahead of the episode, one moment showed Patti LaBelle reacting to a question from host Steve Harvey. When Harvey asked her team to “name an affectionate term that starts with ‘baby,’” LaBelle paused to think, but her teammate and publicist Aliyah Crawford jumped in.

Harvey asked the question again, and Patti answered, “Baby mama.” The bell rang, showing it was one of the top answers and gave her team 10 points.

The episode aired a few months after Patti LaBelle celebrated her 81st birthday in May with a concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. During the show, she told the crowd not to be afraid of getting older. Fantasia was also working on a gospel album. Back in April, she shared that she felt called by her faith to make the album and wanted to return to gospel music.

The episode also showed a second game, where the Arquette family went up against Martina McBride and her team.

During one of the questions, Steve Harvey asked Patti LaBelle’s team to name a sweet phrase that starts with “baby.” Patti paused to think, but her teammate Aliyah Crawford spoke up. Patti quickly said, “Oh shut up!”—a response that made both teams and the audience laugh. Fantasia was also seen laughing from her side.

Harvey smiled and asked the question again. Patti then said, “Baby mama,” which was on the board, and gave her team 10 points.

Patti’s team was made up of her close friends and family. They stayed calm and had fun while playing. The moment showed the relaxed and funny mood of the episode.

Later in the show, the Arquette family played against country singer Martina McBride and her team. This followed the usual Celebrity Family Feud format, where each episode features two matchups.

In a video shared on social media, she said that she had felt called by her faith to create a gospel album. In a video posted to social media on April 27, she shared that she had felt spiritually called to make a gospel album for years.

“God has been telling me to do a gospel album for years, and I’ve been running,” she said. “But the world right now is dark, it’s a lot going on.”

She also said the album was a way to give back:

“I want to give my Father, who’s been so good to me, back what he deserves.”

While the game was filled with fun and friendly competition, Fantasia’s appearance also showed a different side of her. It reminded fans of her strong connection to gospel music and her faith. She hadn’t shared a release date for the album yet, but said that she had already started working on it.
