Scooter Braun has stepped down as CEO of Hybe America. On July 1, 2025, the company issued a press release announcing the change. Braun, the investor, artist manager, and record executive, became Hybe America's CEO in June 2021, following the acquisition of his company, Ithaca Holdings, by the South Korean company for $1.05 billion.
As Braun's SB Projects and Big Machine Label Group were also acquired alongside Ithaca Holdings, artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and the girl group Katseye are currently under Hybe America.
During the four years Braun led the American subsidiary of the company, it acquired the hip-hop label Quality Control, which had artists such as Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and Quavo, among others. In April 2025, Hybe America made a distribution deal with Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label.
According to ABC News' July 2, 2025, report, Hybe America's new CEO will be Isaac Lee, who was the chairman of Hybe Latin America from November 2023. Although Braun's future endeavors are unclear, he will remain a member of Hybe's board of directors and a senior advisor.
In a statement, Scooter Braun expressed his gratitude towards the company and called Hybe Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk a "visionary and a musical genius."
"Being a part of HYBE and witnessing its remarkable growth has been one of the most inspiring chapters of my professional journey. Chairman Bang is a true visionary and a musical genius. What he has built with HYBE is unparalleled," he stated.
Braun continued, stating that he looks forward to supporting Hybe Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk and Hybe CEO Jason Jaesang Lee.
"I am incredibly proud of our collective accomplishments and look forward to supporting Chairman Bang and CEO Jason Jaesang Lee in their continued success as I step into what’s next," Braun stated.
Hybe Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk released a statement after Scooter Braun's departure was announced on Tuesday (July 1, 2025). He stated that Braun's work made it easy for Hybe America to establish the US market. Chairman Bang then thanked Braun for his contribution.
"Scooter has been an extraordinary partner, a visionary executive, and a true catalyst for cultural exchange. His contributions have been vital in establishing our ambitious presence in the U.S. market. I am deeply grateful for his leadership, his astute instincts, and his unwavering passion for artists," the chairman stated.
Chairman Bang also wished Scooter Braun the best for his future endeavors.
