Nick finds the murder weapon and faces a setup

In today’s The Young and the Restless, Nick Newman discovers a bloody dagger hidden in the bathroom of his sleeping car and immediately realizes the implications. It looks like someone is trying to frame him. Furious, he storms in on Chance’s questioning of Phyllis and announces the discovery. 

Holding up the weapon in a clear bag, Nick declares, “Someone is setting me up!” The shocking find introduces a new layer of complexity to the investigation and puts Nick unexpectedly at the center of the crime scene.

Chance begins his investigation

Although Chance has no jurisdiction in France, he takes charge of the investigation and plans to question each passenger individually. He emphasizes his intent is fact-finding, but Devon notes that it feels like everyone is being treated as a suspect. 

Chance grills Phyllis, who witnessed Cane with Damian’s body but did not see the actual stabbing. She insists Cane is innocent and reveals that she was with him the entire time afterward, meaning he could not have hidden the weapon. 

Despite Phyllis’ cooperation, Chance questions whether her defense of Cane is influenced by her job prospects.

Cane faces pressure from Amanda and doubts from Lily

Cane maintains his innocence but faces tough questions from Amanda. She tells him how bad things look and confronts him about lying to Chance regarding access to help. Amanda suggests that Cane might be hiding something, while Cane insists he wanted a proper investigation led by Chance, not local authorities. 

Meanwhile, Lily struggles to process the possibility that Cane, the father of her children, could be a killer. Devon theorizes that Damian may have been blackmailing Cane, but Lily refuses to believe that Damian was anything but an innocent victim. Amanda continues pressing Cane for the full truth.

Nick suspects that Cane might try to deflect blame and perhaps even point the finger at someone as high-profile as Victor. While Sharon listens with concern, the weight of suspicion begins to shift unpredictably.
