Vanessa Hudgens is stepping into motherhood for a second time. On July 12 2025, the High School Musical breakout shared a trio of Instagram portraits with husband and former Major League shortstop Cole Tucker, coolly captioned, “Round two!!!!”.
The post confirmed that the 36-year-old actor, currently seen in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, is pregnant again, barely a year after delivering the pair’s first child in July 2024. Neither the newborn’s name nor the due date for baby No. 2 has been released, in line with the couple’s preference for keeping family details private.
Vanessa Hudgens' rise began with Disney stardom in 2006, but a two-decade career has since stretched from Broadway revivals to Netflix holiday franchises. Tucker, 29, spent parts of six seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Angels before announcing his retirement in May 2025 to focus on philanthropy.
The couple’s latest bump reveal, therefore, doubles as a milestone for a growing family and a new chapter away from the diamond.
Vanessa Hudgens' second pregnancy came to light through a coordinated white-on-white photo set: a cream eyelet skirt set for the actor and a minimalist tee-and-trousers look for Tucker. In each frame, the pair points, laughs, and cradles the visible bump. Hudgens captioned the slideshow,
“Round two!!!!”
Beyond the growing belly, beauty editors zeroed in on a fresh “guava-glaze” cat-eye manicure crafted by celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt. The multichromatic pink-to-green finish “shifts like tropical fruit,” quickly landing on summer 2025 trend lists.
While Vanessa Hudgens did not disclose a due date, the timing mirrors her first pregnancy, which she announced on the 2024 Oscars red carpet. Photos show Tucker gently supporting the actor’s midsection, underscoring the hands-on dynamic fans have come to expect. Comments on the original post were filled with heart-eye emojis and congratulatory baseball puns.
The relationship began in a virtual meditation group during the 2020 lockdown. They went Instagram-official on Valentine’s Day 2021, and by April, the actor was already praising her new partner. As per an Entertainment Tonight interview exclusive with Vanessa Hudgens dated April 20, 2021, she said,
“He's just kind of perfect for me. I am [happy]. I really am,.. I think that it's also so important to stay grateful for everything that you have in life. I've been making that a priority, and I feel like it's just been making magic happen all the more.”
As per a CBS news report dated February 26, 2021, Tucker returned the admiration during MLB spring training, as he told reporters,
“I got a girlfriend and she's cool....She's awesome. I love her, but I don't want to be treated any differently than Mitch [Keller] having his wife come down, or Ke'Bryan [Hayes] having his girlfriend come down.”
He emphasized that their romance should be treated no differently from any teammate’s relationship.
The pair became engaged in Paris in February 2023, Vanessa Hudgens' emerald-cut ring flashing across social feeds, and married on December 2 2023, in an intimate jungle ceremony in Tulum, Mexico, officiated by former monk and podcaster Jay Shetty. The 100-guest event included close friends such as Sarah Hyland and Lucas Grabeel.
Hudgens confirmed her first child’s birth through an Instagram Story after paparazzi photos leaked her hospital exit on July 3 2024, on Tucker’s 28th birthday.
In the months that followed, the actor balanced parenthood with filming obligations and re-emerged on the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet in a black feathered Dolce & Gabbana gown. Her husband soon stepped away from professional baseball, co-founding the You Can! Foundation to support youth mental health initiatives.
Discussing life as a new parent ahead of her first post-baby holiday season, Hudgens highlighted a pragmatic shift in priorities. As per an E! News report dated November 19, 2024, the star reflected,
“Life is chaotic and hectic. I don’t need to make it any more stressful than it needs to be. So, I keep things cozy.”
The couple have not revealed the gender or name of either child, a privacy stance consistent with Vanessa Hudgens’ earlier frustration over intrusive long-lens coverage.
Given the one-year cadence between pregnancies, observers expect “two under two” to keep both parents occupied while Hudgens juggles upcoming projects, including the announced sequel to Netflix’s The Princess Switch franchise.
