What happened to Mack Maine's son Zeke? Rapper mourns the 20-year-old's death

Mack Maine announced on Instagram Monday (July 28, 2025) that his son, Isaiah, has passed away. The rapper shared that his 20-year-old son had seizures on July 16 in his California home and could not survive.

Mack Maine, whose real name is Jermaine Anthony Preyan, posted 20 pictures with his son, and wrote in the caption that since receiving the news via call, he hasn't processed it.

Preyan said that he couldn't believe his young son was gone. He thanked Zeke, a nickname for his son, saying that he had given him "purpose" in life, which motivated him to work hard.

"On July 16th, I received a call that my son Isaiah (Zeke) passed away at his home in California from a seizure. I’m still in shock and still processing the fact that he’s gone. Still confused, still questioning life and why my child and not me... Zeke I thank you for granting me with one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received, Fatherhood!" the rapper wrote.

He also stated that Zeke was with his grandparents in the afterlife. Preyan noted that his father passed away on his birthday, which is July 28, two years ago. He requested his followers to hug their loved ones on his birthday and call them if they can't.

Celebrities pay tribute to Mack Maine's son, Zeke

In the comment section of the Instagram post, Nicki Minaj shared her condolences. Calling Zeke the "perfect boy," she stated that she couldn't believe that he had passed away. Minaj said that she would be praying for the rapper's whole family.

"I don't even believe what I just read. This can't be real. I love you so much. You guys raised the most incredible young man. He was such a perfect boy. I have no words to express what you must be feeling. No words. We are praying for your whole family, Mack. We love you so much," Minaj wrote.

Rapper and close associate of Mack Maine, 2 Chainz wrote that he's praying for him and his family.

"Bru im so sorry to hear this, praying for you and the fam I love ya bru," he wrote.

Actress Lauren London commented that she's praying for her friend, Mack Maine.

"We love you brother and holding you up in prayer," London wrote.

Lala Anthony, Monica, Tyga, Deion Sanders Jr., and Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae shared their condolences and prayers in the comment section.

The rapper has posted pictures of his son in his Instagram stories. He has never publicly disclosed his birth date or the identity of Zeke's mother. According to Bossip's December 21, 2011, report, a woman named Erin contacted the media outlet claiming to be the mother of the rapper's son.

Erin claimed the rapper reportedly didn't give her money to raise their son, and also allegedly threatened her that he would take full custody of Zeke.

Mack Maine never addressed the allegation. Maine, the president of Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, never shared whether Erin was Zeke's mother or not.
