Days of Our Lives, one of the longest-running American soap operas, is currently available on Peacock. Known for its dramatic storylines and deeply interwoven characters, the show has been winning over audiences, even decades later. In recent years, a noteworthy addition to the cast has been Jackée Harry, who plays the bold and dynamic Paulina Price.
The limited series is set in the fictional town of Salem. In this storyline, it looks through the struggles and romances of several families, including the Bradys, Hortons, and DiMeras.
Jackée Harry’s character, Paulina, enters as a wealthy woman with strong wit, opinions and close ties to the Carver family.
Jackée Harry stars as Paulina Price on Days of Our Lives, a character who embodies strength, sophistication, and complexity. Introduced in March 2021, Paulina is portrayed as a powerful, affluent woman who arrives in Salem with secrets and ambitions.
Her entrance immediately stirred drama. It came through her relationship with her daughter Chanel and her growing connection to the Carver family.
On Days of Our Lives, Paulina’s personality is both assertive and compassionate. She strives to be a good mother to Chanel. There are a lot of misunderstandings and revelations going on, still she hangs in there.
Paulina’s romantic interests, notably with Abe Carver, are quite intriguing. Also, Pauline's concern about Abe's battle with amnesia and entanglement with Nurse Whitley reveals a vulnerable and loyal side of her character.
In an interview with Digital Journal she mentioned,
“Paulina is strong, powerful, rich, and something I’ve never done before. I love playing attractive woman that are rich and running things. Paulina is also vulnerable, and I like that about her before she is multi-faceted.”
She also mentioned that she would appreciate sharing some more time on with Deidre Hall. She stated,
“More Marlena and Paulina scenes would be awesome. We’ve become new friends, and she is wonderful. She gives me insights on how to read these scripts in terms of notations, makeup, lighting, and it’s really helpful,”
Jackée Harry also highlighted that playing Paulina because the role always helps her showcase a range of emotions. From confidence to heartbreak, Paulina is a woman of many layers.
Jacqueline Yvonne “Jackée” Harry was born on August 14, 1956, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Raised in Harlem, New York, her artistic journey began studying drama at the High School of Performing Arts before earning a degree in education from Long Island University.
The journey of a history teacher turning into an actor, that's her story.
Jackée Harry became a household name in the 1980s. All thanks to the role of Sandra Clark on the hit NBC sitcom 227, she was performing at that time.
She bagged an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress as the first African-American woman in a Comedy Series for her wit and comedic timing.
She later starred as Lisa Landry on Sister, Sister, another fan-favorite role.
Before joining Days of Our Lives, Harry had a successful theater and film career. With the credits including Ladybugs and stage roles like Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, she had become a common name.
Her entry into soap operas, especially through her portrayal of Paulina Price, caused a new take on this genre. On Days of Our Lives, her ability to manage authority with vulnerability tactfully is so evident in storylines involving her daughter and her partner, Abe.
She refers to herself as a “wordsmith” and enjoys the challenge of memorizing scripts. She focuses on the emotional rhythm of each scene and values how every character’s feelings shape the moment.
