The Goldbergs' renewal for Season 7 was never in doubt, but it was tied to Schooled's renewal for Season 2, according to Deadline. Schooled, which premiered in January, is expected to receive another 13-episode order for Season 2. "Negotiations between ABC and Sony TV for both The Goldbergs and Schooled had been going on for months with typical haggling over business terms between an unaffiliated network and studio," reports Deadline's Nellie Andreeva. The Goldbergs has been averaging 4.6 million viewers this season. Meanwhile, The Goldbergs creator and Schooled co-creator Adam F. Goldberg has signed a new deal to move from his longtime studio home of Sony TV to ABC Studios. The deal will keep Goldberg on board as executive producer of both comedies.
