Fallon's response to the president was a "rare slap back" for The Tonight Show host who avoids being political, as Deadline put it. Fallon made headlines last week for saying in a Hollywood Reporter podcast he regretted the Donald Trump hair tangling controversy during the 2016 presidential campaign. Trump responded on Sunday night, tweeting: "@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous 'hair show' with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have 'humanized' me-he is taking heat. He called & said 'monster ratings.' Be a man Jimmy!" Three hours later, Fallon tweeted in response: "In honor of the President’s tweet I’ll be making a donation to RAICES in his name." RAICES, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, is the fund that TV shows have been donating to help refugee families whose kids were taken from them at the border.
