TNT has ordered a sixth and final season of the hit crime drama ahead of its Season 5 debut this summer. With Animal Kingdom and Claws both ending their runs, Snowpiercer will be the only remaining ongoing scripted series on TNT, which has been moving towards unscripted fare in recent years. Animal Kingdom has been a strong ratings performer, particularly among young viewers, reaching 27 million viewers across all platforms in Season 4. In Season 5, the family is still dealing with the fallout from the death of Ellen Barkin's Smurf, including family members out for revenge," per Deadline. "With their kingdom without a leader, the Codys struggle to maintain their fragile alliance, and to see which of them will come out on top. Meanwhile, they search for more information on Pamela Johnson whom Smurf made the beneficiary of her estate. And back in 1984, an increasingly volatile 29-year-old Smurf is forging her own path raising Pope and Julia and leading the charge on dangerous jobs with new and old friends."
