An American remake of BBC's The A Word, which premiered in 2016 and airs on SundanceTV and Amazon, is in the works. The A Word itself is a remake of a 2010 Israeli drama titled Yellow Peppers. The A Word is described as "a quirky family drama" revolving "around a boy with autism and how his family is affected by his journey." “That series has to be very personal," says Avi Nir, CEO of the Israeli media firm Keshet Media Group, which is producing the remake. "It’s very emotional. It will be different and not different; the issues families are facing are similar but the characters are local and very different. From 40,000 feet, it might look the same, but if you look closely it’s different."
