Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline to star in Alfonso Cuarón's Disclaimer series on Apple TV+

Cuarón is reteaming with his Oscar-winning Gravity cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki on Disclaimer, starring Oscar-winning actors Blanchett and Kline. Disclaimer is based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Renee Knight. "Blanchett stars as Catherine Ravenscroft, a successful and respected television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions," according to Variety. "When an intriguing novel written by a widower (Kline) appears on her bedside table, she is horrified to realize she is a key character in a story that she had hoped was long buried in the past." Cuarón is writing the adaptation and will also direct and executive produce, while Lubezki will share director of photography duties with Amélie and Inside Llewyn Davis Oscar nominee Bruno Delbonnel. Cuarón, who turned 60 last Saturday, signed an overall deal with Apple TV+ in 2019 after winning the best director and best cinematography Oscars for Roma.
